What we collect

When you create an account we store your email address, username, and a hashed password. We also store content you contribute — game submissions, venue listings, verifications, and comments. We log basic analytics (page views, referrers) to understand traffic. No tracking pixels or third-party cookies are used. Optionally, you may add a location to your profile and opt in to hear about community arcade/pinball events near you. This location is used only to match you with nearby events — it is never shown on your public profile or to other users. The coordinates resolved from your location are stored so we can re-derive your area later, but are never returned by the app to you or anyone else; only the general area matched from them is ever used. Opting in and adding a location are both entirely optional and can be removed at any time from your profile.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. Ever. Your email address is used to send you account-related messages (verification, password reset) and, only if you've opted in, occasional community event announcements for your area — nothing else.

Children

ArcadeFinder is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account (see our Terms of Service). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Ownership claims

If you apply to be verified as a venue operator or creator, you may submit evidence images (for example a business listing screenshot, a point-of-sale dashboard, or storefront signage) to support your claim. These images are stored privately and are visible only to ArcadeFinder administrators reviewing the claim — they are never displayed publicly, included in search results, or covered by the photo license described in our Terms of Service.

Venue outreach

To invite real venues to claim and enrich their listing, ArcadeFinder administrators may look up a venue's publicly-posted contact email directly from that venue's own website and send a one-time invitation. We do not scrape or harvest email addresses in bulk, and every invitation includes a one-click unsubscribe link that requires no account or login — clicking it immediately and permanently stops further invitations to that address. This applies to business contact addresses discovered for outreach purposes, not to registered users' account emails.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single first-party cookie to keep you signed in between visits. It contains only a random session identifier — no tracking or advertising data — and is not shared with any third party. We do not use third-party or cross-site tracking cookies.

Advertising

ArcadeFinder may display contextual ads served by EthicalAds. EthicalAds is cookieless — it does not use tracking pixels, browser fingerprinting, or any cross-site user profiling. Ads are matched to page content only (e.g. "arcade games" pages get gaming-related ads), not to you personally. No personal data is shared with EthicalAds and no consent banner is required. We do not use any other ad network or affiliate program.

Disclaimer of liability

ArcadeFinder is a community-maintained directory. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or safety of any information on the site — including machine availability, pricing, or venue details. Use of this site is entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or disappointment arising from information found here.

Venue and game listings

All venue and game information is contributed by community members and is provided in good faith. If you are the owner of a venue or game and would like it removed from the site, contact us and we will remove it promptly. We respect removal requests and do not require you to prove ownership — your word is enough.

Takedown requests

If any content on ArcadeFinder — a game listing, venue entry, photo, or comment — relates to you and you want it removed, send us a message. Include the name of the listing and a brief description of your connection to it. We will remove it without question.

Data retention

If you delete your account, your personal information is removed. Content you contributed (game entries, verifications) may remain in anonymised form to preserve the integrity of the community record, unless you request full removal.

Your rights and data deletion

You can delete your account and all personal data at any time from within the app. Go to your profile page, tap Edit profile, and scroll to Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Content you contributed (verifications, placement photos) may remain in anonymised form unless you request full removal.

If you need help deleting your account or want all associated content removed, contact us and we will process the request within 30 days.

Sign in with Apple

If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple User ID and, optionally, an email address (which may be a private relay address). We store the Apple User ID to associate your account with your Apple identity. We do not store your Apple ID password or any other Apple account details. Deleting your ArcadeFinder account removes the stored Apple User ID.
